The 5 Photographers we are entirely in love with!

Dorothea Lange

In this time full of love and friendship, we share with you some of the photographers that make us vibrate from the heart. What’s yours? Do you agree with us?.

A significant American photojournalist and photographer, Dorothea Lange, lived from 1895 until 1965. Lange studied photography under Clarence H. White in New York at the Columbia University. She did many informal apprenticeships at studios of photography in New York, including Arnold Genthe. She shifted to San Francisco in 1918 and the next year she opened her own studio for portrait photography. In 1920, she tied herself into marriage with Maynard Dixon, a noted painter and they had two children.

Alfred Eisenstaedt work

Alfred Eisenstaedt well known by the iconic V-J Day kiss image in Times Square; was one of LIFE Magazine’s most notable photographers and photojournalists. Over his career, he had more than 90 of his photos featured on the cover of the magazine, and over 2,500 of his photo stories published. Unlike most news photographers of the time, he favored small 35mm film cameras and natural lighting; he was a successful portraitist, captured timeless-candid photos of some of the era’s biggest names.

Ruven Afanador work

Ruven Afanador a Colombian photographer, which work has featured in several exhibitions at major galleries and museums; an opulent classicism distinguishes his work by an irreverent point of view. He began his career as a fashion photographer but is best known for his book Torero (2001), a collection of black-and-white portraits of matadors from Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Spain.

Sally Mann work

Renowned for his large scale black and white stylized photos of nude men and flowers, Robert Mapplethorpe was Born in 1946, New York and died in 1989, Massachusetts. Mapplethorpe primarily worked in his studio, especially towards his career’s end. He photographed celebrities like Peter Gabriel, Patti Smith, Joan Armatrading, Deborah Harry, Louise Bourgeois, Richard Gere, and Andy Warhol. Among flowers, he usually took pictures of calla, lilies, and orchids.
